    This session general familiarizes students with the meaning, function and core characteristics of law. Moreover, it deals with the classification of laws and tries to equip students with the practical skills of law-making process.

  • Study Unit 2: The meaning and principles of the rule of law

    This session tries to introduce students with the concept, purpose and fundamental features of the rule of law. By so doing this topic tries to enable students view the topic through various perspectives and how it applies in their daily lives.

  • Study unit 3: Meaning & Concepts of Justice and Justice System

    This session in general introduces students to the meaning of justice system. More specifically it deals with the concepts of justice, fairness, the meanings of equality and equity, and finally discusses the notion of access to justice in the context of the countries included under this project.

  • Study unit 4: Introduction to the Major Legal Systems of the World

    This session in general introduces students to the concept of legal system and discusses the main legal systems of the world. In dealing with the major legal systems, it acquaints students with the common law and civil law legal systems.

  • Study Unit 5: Meaning and Scope of Human Rights

    This unit also acquaints you with the common classifications of human rights, basically on the basis of generation or history of development. The unit also deals with how  human rights help us in the daily lives of everyone and discusses the duty bear’s responsibilities in the enforcement of human rights.

  • Study Unit 6: Introduction to Justice Organs and Dispute Adjudication Mechanisms

    This Module aims at introducing students about the concept of justice and particularly about the justice rendering institutions, formal and informal. More over the theoretical and practical skills of Dispute Adjudication mechanisms, help students to avoid potential disputes and develop the skills of resolving when actual disputes occur in their daily lives such as employment relationships, and business. The skills that students acquire under this module enables students to acquire skill that enables them get employment opportunity as paralegals and clerical works in Legal firms and Dispute Settlement institutions.

  • Study Unit 7: Understanding Law of Contract and Employment Relations

    Under this session, you will define the term contract and law of contract, learn how contracts are formed and what the validity requirements are in order to form a contract. Moreover, this session deals with some basic principles of law of contract.
